Is there a setting using the Samsung text messager, that provides receipt of message Read?
I know there is setting for receipt of message Delivered. But I ask about Read.
    Thanks.

Lemme guess, you are coming from an iPhone?

I dont use the stock app, but i don't think there is a setting on the app to actually let you know when the message is read on the other end...

SMS does not have that functionality. iPhones get around this by simultaneously using data and sms functionality by tying in the number to your Apple ID, and then sending the read receipt through the internet via another messaagr separate from the SMS. Samsung did something like this before with the ChatOn app, but nobody used it so they phased it out. Samsungs now have an Enhanced Messaging option in the settings which I think works similar to iMessage and provides read receipts, but I think some carriers disabled that so you'd use their own messaging services *cough*Verizon*cough*
