Help Screen turning of wile I am typing

Ill go to answer a text message and start texting the person and and I can still type but like phone does not know i am touching the screen and the screen goes to sleep. I dont recall it doing this before did I mess up a setting or something

Even on the home screen i can be moving to the next home screen and touching the screen and the screen will dim and the final go off wile i am touching it

Simply give your screen a good through cleaning as any form of fingerprints,dirt,smudges,and or etc hinders the touch sensors causing forementioned problems
