Is there an app (Tasker???) that will put the phone in airplane mode and/or sound an alarm, if the phone is "searching for signal" for more than "x" amount of time, say 5 minutes?
I ask this, because I use Power Schedule to put my phone in airplane mode each night and off at 9:00AM (when I normally leave to work). I stayed home today, and after 1.5 hours my phone vibrated and shut down (lost all it's juice because at 9:00 it switch off airplane... dead at 10:30). Had my phone played a ringtone at 9:05 I would have remembered to manually put it back in airplane mode, or if an app would throw it back to airplane after not getting a signal, that would also work.
