How can I detect the app that sends SMS without my knowledge?

What are the SMS texts being sent? Are they personal texts sent to another person. Are they spam texts that appear to be sent from your phone?
Are you using the stock texting app or a 3rd party?

What phone do you have?

My wife had a motorola cliq that got infected with a virus it started sending out random text and emails to people. We factory reset it, got it replaced and the problem continue. When T-Mobile wouldn't or couldn't help any further I gave my wife my motorola cliq and switch to a flip phone, the problem continue on the phone I gave her.

If the problem remains after changing phones then I'd look at the account rather than the phone. It could be that she's redownloading an infected app (perhaps from a backup), or the app is being pushed to the new phone from a hacked Google account, but I reckon there has to be something like that going on.
