Help Sony Ericsson X10 issues syncing contacts

I have recently fixed the Market issue where apps were unsuccessfull in dowloading. In the process i lost my contacts.

However i had backed them up on Sony Ericsson website... I had about 80 phone contacts but now when i sync i have about 800+ it looks like its syncing my gmail contacts. Any ideas how to stop this as gmail by default remembers every address you have made emailed. It never did this before.

Any help would be appreciated.

In Menu>Settings>Data Synchronisation have a look under select sync application and make sure Google is turned off, then you should only get your SE sync contacts downloaded.

Thanks for this info, however all my third party apps like Facebook, two gmail accounts and Whatsapp are all set to not sync. I've turned off all background syncing now and will see what happens.
