Since when was is planned for 4/9? And how the hell did they use anyone as "Beta testers?" They didn't release a beta ROM to the public...it was leaked and a bunch of people jumped on it not thinking about what might happen. Rooting is safe but flashing a leaked RUU known to have issues...well that's just dumb.
1H of 2010...my lord some of you act like the world is going to end. Go outside.
momoceio, Several posters have individualy stated that they were told by someone at Sprint that 4/9 was the day...Does that mean it was fact? No! But my opinion is that was probably a date they had hoped to release it. We'll never know if that was their intent.
In re-reading my post, I see I wasn't clear... I meant to say that it wasn't an official beta test released to the public, but that I believed that they allowed a bunch of people to become unexpected beta testers by leaking it. You can be sure they are lurking in these forums and see the comments. Just leak a copy and see what results come back.
In a former life, I worked for a very large software company, so I know the difference between an official beta test, and a "leak" beta test, which we did also. Even though there is very little liability to the company for the results a user experiences when he/she beta tests a product for the company, there is
some. There is absolutely NO liability when they leak it and people use it, and have issues. It's a big win for the company. Feedback and NO liability.
Auto companies release "spy" pictures of future autos to guage public reaction to possible new styles, and also fake spy shots to confuse and mislead it's competition. Many companies do this. It's business.
You said "Rooting is safe but flashing a leaked RUU known to have issues...well that's just dumb." I agree 100%.
1H of 2010...my lord some of you act like the world is going to end. Go outside. I'm not one of the ones complaining about when it will be out. I did say "It'll be here soon, and it will be cool! Have patience everyone. It will be worth it!"
momoceio, you are a credit to this forum, and I appreciate being able to discuss these things civilly! Thank you for all you do here!
