Help tether help

Hi I'm trying to tether my droid to my computer and I can't seem to get it to work. I downloaded easy tether and followed all the directions but it says there are no devices when I go connect. I think the problem may be with the ads interface bc it installs everytime I plug the usd up even after I reset my computer. Any help would be appreciated thanks.

O I'm running windows vista 32bit
Motorola droid firmware 2.1
(New phone only had it a week)

did you remember to select USB debugging? that is the only thing i can think of, I use EasyTether, and it connected just fine the first time

Yea I checked it. it seems like the ads drivers are not installing properly bc when I restart my computer it reinstalls them and tells me I need to restart again
