Help Text Msg Alert Problem Since Froyo Update

Downloaded and installed Froyo (T-Mobile UK) last night and whilst in the middle of a phone call this morning I got a text message and the alert tone (I have a noise from the game Galaxian which is really loud and piercing) came through as it would do had I not been on the phone and nearly deafened me ffs.
Has anyone else experienced this and if so is their anyway of solving the issue ?

I'm sorry for bumping this but surely it's not just me that's experiencing this problem.
This is really starting to annoy me now.
I've had phones in the past that have given a warning when having alert tones on full & I've laughed thinking who would be stupid to put a phone against their ear when an alert is playing.

I've had exactly the same problem since updating my desire to froyo too Charlie. Was fine before the update. Odd. Have scoured the web for a solution to no avail so far. you managed to sort it at all?
