Root Update FA19 to FE16

this was done using the quick baseband switching tip from skater and thanks kouma and iinigo...

That's how my phone is. Only I did it backwards. I had just finished making rooted stock on ext4. So I flashed back everything from my ctmod setup but the baseband. :D

will this work on cm7 based roms? i just want the baseband, would this delete any installed apps or replace scripts? thanks

I took the update, and at first it was slow and had poor service.
I stripped it down to the bare minimums and changed my prl.
It's insanely fast, and I'm getting full service everywhere.
Best of all the data/apps only takes up 21mb of memory.

I'm loving it.

I may have to install this on the Prevail I sold my buddy. I went ahead and put FA19 on it since he lives closer to the city. I tried it the other day and his 3g speed is terrible. I'm going to put this on for him. If it doesn't work I'm going to flash EJ06 back on it.

Am I not able to use the new FE16 rooted w/ CWM that Kouma posted with KoumaKernel 2.5? Every time I attempt to run it with KK 2.5 it just stalls at the Kernel screen.

I may be wrong but I don't believe that Kouma's kernel plays well with the RFS system format.

Yeah I was just thinking that myself. I just read earlier that he had run it with his KK so I thought maybe it was good to go with it. But now that I think about it, that's what HalfAssRom was for.

Hey Kouma I was comparing the size of both files, any reason why the rooted image with cwm is smaller than the stock image, did you remove all the bloatware for instance??

The difference is due to compression. I barely took anything out.
Just, Google Maps, Google Street View, Google Mail, Pro-Tips, and Youtube.

Oh, and a complete copy of the stock recovery that's hidden in /system

flashed the rooted version and USB debugging isn't working.

I noticed it when titanium backup said i needed to enable it.

I did and even though it disconnects and reconnects from usb it still isn't enabled.

I tried to adb remount and it said "remount failed: operation not permitted."

restarted phone, unplugged it and just not working for some reason.

I am still using CM7 pretty heavily these days for business so, I apologize for not Flashing the whole ROM right now. I am interested to see what they did to it.

I downloaded both in case I need to take the unrooted back to Boost.

I took the phone.tar from the rooted version and Flashed that. I assume it is identical to the one on the unrooted though.

So far so good. Definitely beats that crappy FA19. Not sure how it matches up to EJ06 yet, but based on some quick tests, it looks very promising.

Using it to Wifi tether to my laptop right now, but using Tapatalk to Type this. Lol.

aperently market stays market in this update

Thanks for the report Wolf. I guess I'm gonna go ahead and get this so I can install it on the Prevail I sold my buddy. Nice to know this update works.

OK, the update seems better, as far as signal and speed are concerned. I made a backup in cwm, flashed update, then restored my CTMod 3.6... all seems to work fine... Only question so far, how do I change the lockscreen to updated style? Still learming, so please excuse my ignorance.:banghead::):)

How many others have experienced positive results with different prls with this baseband? I know the update is still fresh... but if you have, thanks in advance for your results!
