Upgrading S2 with non working USB cable?

Hey guys. SO I'm pretty sure my USB port is not happy with me. It is taking a charge, but its not connecting to my PC, and I want to upgrade to Jelly Bean.

Apparently Kies only allows a firmware upgrade if it is plugged in with a USB cable (which I think is really lame).


Is there any possible way to upgrade my firmware without having it plugged into my PC?

I'd like to avoid rooting my phone, because I think I would screw that up, haha.

Have you tried a different cable? Different USB ports?

yeah, tried all that. used 2 different cables, all three USB ports.

I ordered a replacement USB Port kit today, so at this point, I just plan on replacing it (It will make life easier in general for file transfer and whatnot)
