Help USB port enough to power a phone?

Wondering about the USB port on this - I have a thunderbolt which I love but the battery life sucks. I see myself using wifi tether alongside the tablet when I'm out and about and was wondering whether connecting my phone to the dock will help charge the phone as well.

I just tried connecting it with my Tmo G2x. it shows charging..

Was charging my Epic the other day when I thought i was going to be SOL. Thankfully I keep a retractable cord in work bag.

My retractable USB cord could't catch up with my G2x power demand when I have the WIFI hotspot turn on. I will need to bring with me a real USB cable for charging the phone.
