I know there is a ROM out there already, but it is barely functional. I would love to try a Froyo ROM, even if it doesn't have Sense, just to see what it can do.

Which dev do you think will jump on it first and get a working Froyo for Hero?

P.S. I know it won't work like it would with a Snapdragon, but it would still be fun.

Fully functioning, probably not. Functioning and usable though, absolutely. :)

All I'm hoping for are performance improvements. A stable JIT compiler and V8 javascript engine in the browser. What are the chances of these two coming to the hero? BTW, this android open source community is 2cnd to none. Seems like everytime I flash a new rom I have a newer faster phone. Thanks to all the devs for all your hard work.

I don't. Judging by the threads over on xda, once they get the actual source code and backport it, a daily use should ROM shouldn't be to much of a problem. Granted that it will not be a full featured 2.2, it will still be a 2.2 ROM.
