Help Windows XP?

Strange problem?
I am trying to connect my tab to a lappie, in order to trasfer some files to and from the tab. Problem is, "yes you've gussed it" my lappie can't find any drivers.

I don't really want to use kies, is there any way round it? any help or advice would be great!

Sorry, almost forgot, it is Windows XP!
