Venting & Warning...Ridiculous Boost Mobile Customer Service

Since there's no "Boost Mobile" category yet, I'm posting here in "Sprint"... I just bought my Motorola i1 yesterday, activated it last night, but never could make a call. 24 hours later, I'm still receiving a "Not registered on network" error. Other than that the phone (and even the 1.5 OS) has been AWESOME so far!

But the Boost Mobile phone tech support / customer service rep was kind and friendly...but hardly helpful. I usually try to be nice to these people (and I even was this time!), but today my hour on the phone was entertaining...turned frustrating...turned aggravating...turned ANGERING!! I'm just posting here to vent and warn...

As of Monday 28 June 2010...I'm pretty sure, Boost Mobile CS reps have NO CLUE about Android phones. The first couple people were kind and fairly helpful (I suppose). As soon as they realized they couldn't help me, they moved me on to the next 'more specialized' person (so they said). Until I eventually landed with a sweet, mid-30's sounding, Asian woman who kept referring to my "i1" as an "i9" (even after I corrected her 3+ times!)... then it got worse....

"Can you please press the menu button, then choose Advanced."
...Well there are no clear 'menu' or 'advanced' options that I can easily find...

"Okay how about Menu then Advanced SETTINGS"
...Yeah, o-okay, well...there again I can't find that either, how about I just go to the 'Settings'? What kind of settings are you looking for...

"Well, first...are you calling me from the phone now?"
...Well, no...it won't make calls...that's why you're helping me...[I give a friendly/lighthearted laugh]...

"Oh right, [brief giggle] well let's try this, go to Menu then Advanced CALL Settings"
...Or how about I just try calling back later? Maybe I can work with someone else tonight...I really need to go anyway. What number do I call to get back to your tech support dept?...

"Okay, no problem then. If you want to speak to someone later, just dial 611 from your Boost Mobile phone! And thank you for being a Boost Mobile customer."
...Yes and thank you! (for not listening anything I asked!!)


Point is...I don't know... I feel dumber after all that!

Boost CS are idiots. I'm not familiar with Boost but do you need to register the phone on-line before you can use it?

Yeah, I registered it online first... but it still was giving me the error, even when I had a STRONG signal. A couple hours after my call to Boost CS, it finally started working!! Now I only get that message when I have no signal. Still not sure how or why it happened before, but hopefully it won't happen again!

Just putting it out there, I believe the menu button is the one with four squares, one being solid and the others just outlines.

Oh crap... well, I guess I'm the idiot now! :) I do see now that going to "Menu" then "Settings"... but there's still no 'Advanced'... and I'm still not on a Moto i9.... but I am still an idiot!
