720p video/3g hot spot and froyo soon

The only thing about that video that leads me to believe this may not happen (Just the Boot Animation) is that this is not a Verizon branded phone. Look at your phone and then watch the video again. Your phone says Verizon under the top speaker and the phone in the video says HTC.

Are we sure that we will be getting this boot animation?

If we do, remember that it's crazy easy to change...

Have you even heard of pdanet? (one word). I used it to tether for free for over a month when I was temporarily living in a hotel. Works AWESOME. it's available on the market. don't be paying for tethering.. jeez!

well PDAnet doesn't let me do everything I need and I could never get them to confirm even if the pay version does and now at this point if hotspot is coming will pdanet let me use wifi hotspot without paying verizon? Be interesting how Verizon is going to control the wifi hotspot.

We can't be 100% sure if we're getting this animation. All I did was repost an article I saw on Twitter from Phandroid. I am in no way saying this is definitely what we're getting, I'm just reposting what I heard. That's all. Unfortunately, there's not much we can guarantee when it comes to Verizon or HTC... even if they guarantee it themselves, somebody is always changing their mind or something never works right. I just thought the animation was cool.

For everyone not liking the new boot animation, did you forget you can put your own on? I changed mine from the original, and ill do it again after a new Rom with this update comes out.

Not to mention that how often do you really even see your boot animation? At least for myself, since owning the INC from early in June...i've literally shutdown my phone less than 5 times.

That being said I'm excited for some Inc love.

What is it that you need that PDAnet doesn't offer? With PDAnet you can use the internet connectivity of your phone .. on your computer.. either wired or thru Bluetooth DUN.. .. and all of this without involving vzw.

what more do you seek?

Well it is my understanding that Droid is simply short for Android. If you notice all of the Droid commercials usually focus to the software, Android. Just because the first Android phone happened to be made by Motorola doesn't mean that Motorola owns the name Droid. The name "Droid" happens to be owned by Lucasfilms.

Any Android based phone is a Droid, IMO.

According to Wiki (for whatever that's worth)
The term "Droid" has been licensed by Verizon Wireless for their line of smartphones based on the Android operating system. Motorola's late-2009 Google Android-based cell phone is called the Droid. This line of phone has been expanded to include other Android-based phones released under Verizon, including the HTC Droid Eris, the HTC Droid Incredible and the newly announced Motorola Droid X[5] and Motorola Droid 2[6].The term is used under license from Lucasfilm.[7]

and what have you gained out of rooting the device? (no really, I am curious to know). The OTA update is too important to pass on.. 720p, imporoved call quality and radio signal... .. you can't pass it buddy.:)
I didn't think 720p would be included in this one. My call quality and radio signal hasn't been an issue so I figured I will just wait.

But with root all I have really used it was WiFi tether which helped a ton since my hotel room decided they wanted 10 dollars a day. If 720p or any other significant update is included with this one then I'll do it
