Official 4G/WiMAX Coverage Areas

After seeing reports today of a 4G signal in Fullerton and Rosemead, I turned it on here in Irvine (near Culver/Barranca) and briefly got a "4G Network Available" indication, but it hasn't connected. I guess it's still in the buildout stage here, but maybe by Labor day?

Cool! I live right near the towers at Culver and Barranca in Irvine. I will keep testing every so often. (The tower is next to San Diego Creek by the baseball field at Alton Park.)

Edit: And the next closest Clear tower is on the electric tower next to the 405 at Culver.

I've got 1 bar of 4G as we speak in Anaheim off of Ball and Knott. Got a download speed of 1.97mb and 1.2mb upload. Hopefully they start opening up more antennas so I can get a better signal...

**EDIT** My earlier test was flawed. For some reason I was testing off of the Albequerque, NM server. I switched it to the Los Angeles server and scored a 4.34mb download speed! Upload speed stayed the same.

hey. Do you know if there are any towers in Laguna Beach? Hopefully 4G comes down here.

I was at the sprint store in fenton on saturday and they were telling me that the best 4G signal in St. Louis currently is in Arnold. They have been building out at a fast pace though so that could change at any time.

And we know to believe everything Sprint employees tell us in the stores... like how wired tethering is included for the $10 EVO tax and that all Sprint TV channels are also included.

The 4G is betting better all the time; it's been acvitve (for testing, presumably) for many, many weeks. They are just now telling people about it.

I'm near Culver and the 5 freeway...have 4g turned on right now but not getting anything. Would make sense 4g has a signal around Culver/Barranca since there's a Sprint store right there. I'll have to see if I can connect on my way to work tomorrow morning since I drive down Culver and go past Barranca...but good to hear people starting to get signal in OC!!

looks like they have done a LOT of expansion down in south county/Arnold area. according to the Clear maps the I-270 hole from 40 South has been pretty well filled in, just gotta get it up and rolling from Manchester up to 40, also looks like some in T&C along 40 from mason over to Timberlake Manor... while I wouldn't say that Arnold is the BEST place for 4g in the metro area, it surely is better than some places. here's hoping the rapid expansion continues and how about adding some east of 255???

I've been getting roughly between 3-7mbps up here in the NW Chicago suburbs. Many areas around me give 4G, but as I drive around I've noticed in some places I'll have full 4G bars but then one intersection later I have none. Mostly I have been well covered and I'm impressed with the downloading speeds, although uploading doesn't seem to be as affected. Hopefully as the network continues to grow I can one day hit the 10mbps mark without wifi!

Really? I'm gonna have to try my 4G on Monday. Thanks for the heads up.

confirmed 4G signal at Valley View and Katella in Cypress. It's VERY weak though, but it could be because I'm inside my office (although I get 5-6 bars of voice signal). I get 0 to 1 bar of 4G signal and my phone turns it off after a bit.

Edit:
Using SpeedTest.NET with a LA server (I know this isn't the most accurate app for testing speed) i get 4.65 down .93 up... not bad
