I think per the rules you're not supposed to "hi-jack" a thread. People like you are the reason people leave forums. You need to learn when to open your mouth and not. Or in this can when to type and not to type. You don't want us to talk about stuff, don't post threads. Seriously, this is a forum, what we do.
Just because you posted the thread gives you no right to say what we should post in response.
But don't worry, will never bother answering a question for you again.
Sprints insurance has recently gotten a lot worse. The screen on my pre cracked and they said i had to go through insurance. When I asked them to explain this to me I was told that theyre insurance policy had just changed and that they would only be handling manufacturers defects from now on.
So long story short is anything goes wrong with your phone your going to have to go through insurance. It wouldn't be a big deal except for the fact that you'll be stuck with a piece of crap REFURBISHED, I for one have expierienced the low quality of these replacements and believe me they suck! Another thing is when you have your phone replaced through insurance sprint is basically done with you. Anything goes wrong from that point you'll be told to call assurion because "they are the ones you got your phone from". To me best buy is better, you might have to wait a couple of weeks, but atleast you know your getting what you paid for.

Sorry but most of this is absolutely untrue. If you recieve a broken or non-functional referb, call Assurion back and they will replace it overnight and pay shipping to return the defective one. Once you have a working phone through insurance, Sprint services the phone the same as any other under the coverage.
The coverage is simple. If its defective or fails, the repair/replacement is free. If you break it (IE physical damage) or its lost/stolen, its an insurance claim.
Best Buy's coverage is useless as they take WEEKS with your phone waiting to be 'looked at and determine if it can be repaired'. With sprint, you have a replacement phone within 48 hrs usually.
As far as refurb vs new. If your phone dies during the first 30 days, they will replace with new. Usually over the counter excange. After that, your phone is USED, NOT NEW so a working referb is actally a step up from your broken USED phone. I get so tired of hearing folks complain that companies replaced thier 'new' whatever with a lousy referb when they bought new. After 30 days use folks,,,,IT AIN'T NEW.
Warranty comes with every phone and includes one year coverage of manufacture defects. Insurance is designed for lost/damaged. You are mixing two different things here.
BB insurance costs more monthly, but has no deductible. You will get a new phone. Also, BB insurance does NOT cover lost/stolen phones... so if your phone dissappears... you're really screwed.
Sprint insurance costs less per month, but has a 100 dollar deductible. You may end up with a Referb phone vs new (no big deal most the time). Reason I went with Sprints insurance is that it covers everything (damage, lost, stolen, whatever). I prefer the complete coverage.
I just picked up my Evo 4 weeks ago at BB and this is what I remember the BB sales pitch being:
- BB insurance is ~$1/month CHEAPER than Sprint (There are diffent BB rates depending on the carrier and ATT was was higher than Sprint)
- Deductible was similar for both (can't remember the actual numbers)
- Sprint covered theft, BB did not cover theft
- Sprint had a limit on the number of replacements (something like 3 max) and no replacement limit on BB coverage
- BB has a 'no lemon' clause and may replace the phone if there are excessive problems (this from the BB salesman - I took it w/ a grain of salt)
- BB insurance counts toward BB reward points, and at the end of the contract you will recieve additoinal reward zone points
I passed on the insurance at the time I purchased the phone. Last week was on the phone w/ Sprint customer service and ended up adding Sprint insurance. I felt the theft coverage was worth the extra $1 / month.
How do you get its only $1 more a month? Sprint is $7 and BB is $10, am I wrong?
