hey,
im new the the galaxy s and wondered if anyone know.
a lot of the time i write messages over 3 pages and as i get to the 4th page it changed to a multimedia message,
my plan lets me have unlimited texts but not unlimited multimedia messages
is there a way to set the phone so i can continue writing more pages and not have it change to a multimedia message?
thanks

The limit for a Text message is 140 characters, anything over this is a MMS. There are other text programs on the market that will give you a character count, which will let you stop that text and start a new one.

Hi, noob here but have lurked for a while.

Sorry but that is wrong. 140 characters is 1 sms message, true, but 2 or more can be daisy chained together. Above 3 pages (420 characters) the OP is suggesting that the phone converts it into a MMS.

Unfortunately you don't have the feature to turn this off in the default message apps, but apps available in the market does have the same feature where default setting (change sms to mms if message exceeds to 3 pages) can be turn off. Handcent sms is one such application I have used, not sure about the other apps.
