Hi, been following the forum for a while and appreciate all the tips and help on here.

I got my inc in April this year and had the exchange sync connected to my work email with no issues. Last week i dropped the my inc, broke the glass and got a new inc from asurion, which shipped with 2.2. I never installed the 2.2 on the old phone.

Since the new phone, none of my work emails pop. If I open the mail app it syncs. I deleted and reinstalled the account a few times and no change. Anyone with these issues with 2.2 and know how to correct it?

Also my phone is not rooted.

Thanks.

Well I spoke to Verizon tech support and after a half hour they admitted that the 2.2 update does not support automatic sync for exchange and MAYBE and update may come out. Also they told to me purchase touchdown for $20.00 (exchange for android) to use instead, which is complete BS. I downloaded the full trial version to see if its works and email still doesn't push. This is a completely unacceptable response from verizon and then i asked if they sent me any text or email or do they notify new purchasers that they have now limited the capabilities of the phone and of course they had no response. Its completely ridiculous that i have to manually check my work emails all the time.

Really? I'm surprised at that as I've never heard that before. It's possible that it has something to do with your server. Touchdown works on my server even though ActiveSync isn't turned on. You can set GMail up as an ActiveSync account. (Google GMail activesync for instructions.) I'd try that and see if it works. I've not had any problems with that configuration. I've got a few other users floating around using Android who haven't complained about ActiveSync not working for them.

RoadSync is another app I would recommend trying. It's a $6-7 app. Yes I know you shouldn't have to do this if the phone is supposed to support it natively. I like keeping my personal email separate from my work email though so I've always used a 3rd party app.

If i set my email to "every 5 minutes" my email comes through which i believe is not different than me opening the appliation every five minutes and syncing, essentially pulling/polling. Setting it "as it arrives" is this a true push or is it pulling from the server everyfew seconds? and how does the different settings effect battery life.
