Root DX 2.1 Rooted not able to do the OTA update for 2.2 HELP please!!

When he tries to do the update says no updates at this moment...

He called VZ and they they will email him when he can do the update but I did the update with no problems my other friend same thing...

So, please help!!! You guys are the mastersssssss

Why does he want the OTA if he is rooted. You can get it from a number of places. download rom manager from market.

He wants to get Froyo =) and then run the ApeX ROM like me and others here at work

You can download froyo via the app Rom Manager since you're rooted. Pretty simple.

Download rom manager off the market. The free one will suffice for this. Then select download rom. Choose the stock image selection and download away. I recommend he creates a backup and wipe the data and cache when prompted. Not 100% positive if he needs droid x bootstrapper but I think he may. It wouldn't hurt to pick it up first. Its also on the market as a paid app or on his website for free (sorry I don't have the link) and after that is downloaded select bootstrap recovery, select droid x and it should say success. Then do all the rom manager junk.

Im confused about one thing. You aren't sure how to install froyo over rooted 2.1 yet you have 2.2 rooted on your own phone with a different custom rom overclocked. Hmmm, doesn't add up be far be it from me to judge since I ask my fair share of questions.

Good question, I got my phone the same day Froyo came out so I open the box and did the update from 2.1 to 2.2

My friend had the DX like 15 days before me so he rooted his phone while using 2.1 and when trying to update his phone the update never worked... So, that's why I had the question...

But I got the phone to do the update to 2.2 then rooted and install the ApeX Rom
