Should I trade for a MyTouch 4G?

I have someone willing to trade a brand new in box MyTouch 4G for my Nexus one.. should I do it? I really wanna see what gingerbread is like but I also played with the MyTouch at the store and I liked it. What do you guys think?

They are pretty much the same hardware wise right? But mytouch has front camera and HSPA+ speed. Gingerbread is gonna be awesome but atleast for me in the long run its no big deal which version of android I have. Its an even trade, if I had to pay I wouldn't do it.

If you trade, make sure you have the option to swap back just in case you don't like the MT4G as much or you simply miss the N1 lol

The MT4G sounds like a really good phone from all of the reviews.

The my touch 4g is actually a pretty good device, it sounds like a fair trade if theres no cash involved. My only question is are you going to root it and play around with the my touch 4g because if thats the case be advised that the root method is a bit difficult for the mytouch and has the possibility of bricking your phone, that aside i say good luck try it. Ive said this before i think the mytouch hardware would have been a better choice for the next nexus than the samsung model but thats just my .02

I'm not big on rooting, never rooted my nexus one. My concerns are the updates and the fear I will miss vanilla android. Will I still have the tethering and portable wifi?

I actually have a my touch 4g that ive been toying with(its an xmas gift for my GF to replace her craptacular vibrant). You will have the tether and wifi hotspot option but you will only be able to tether 2 things at one time where if im not mistaken the nexus allows 6. You also have launcher pro to replace sense

the mytouch 4g is awesome though.
my girlfriends brother got one, now she has one too. my mom got one the other day, and i walked into the office the other morning and my boss had one sitting on his desk. it is the first phone i have seen that i think i might like a little more then my nexus.

can you buy stock in HTC? they make way too many AMAZING phones on all carriers not to be making a crapload of money.

I changed my mind.. I think I'm going thru with the trade. I played with the nexus s and honestly gingerbread didn't seem like the amazing upgrade I thought it would be. It looks alot nicer then froyo and seemed smoother and granted I only messed with it for a few minutes. It has been hyped soo much and Idk just seemed like a polished froyo from what I saw.

I agree. I actually saw several pretty good used N1s with a bunch of accessories for $250-300 on Craigslist.

I'm really liking this phone. Besides a crap load of bloatware and the dock that has myfaves which I dont use, its a great phone
