Droid 2 not working after update

Soo I got a system update notice, or something like that, for my Droid 2 a couple days ago. I downloaded it and after that my droid stopped working properly. All day it was glitchy and kept freezing and rebooting itself. I thought maybe the update was just taking its time to set in. The next day, today, it was working fine. I thought the problem was fixed, but about an hour ago it started happening again. Although only with handcent messaging (an app.) I've already tried uninstalling handcent, but it just happens with the text messaging that comes with the phone. Any suggestions?

Try a factory reset.
