Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

My wife's birthday is tomorrow. Is it wrong for me to get her a phone?? She is using a Motorola Devour right now with scotch tape running down the side to hold the battery cover on

Yeah that's the problem with all the new phones. They're all big. But I think she would get used to the size real quick. Wife has a Bionic and she didn't take too long to get used to it.

You know, folks, I am reading ALL OVER the media that Verizon is pushing out 4.0.4... yet NOTHING.

Anyone know what the hold-up is THIS time?

EDIT: Apparently Verizon is pushing SOMETHING, because this web page is up:

http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/system_update/samsung_galaxy_nexus.pdf

Is this the December update? Or something new? I thought the new update was iMM76

EDIT EDIT: Yep, this page is WAY obsolete. It's the December update. Back to being

Got to love the "flagship" device treatment, eh?

I finally took the plunge.

In a last ditch effort, to give my Nexus one more shot, I flashed a rom. Liquid 1.4

Glad to hear. It's the ROM I'm running and find it a little snappier than AOKP, but they're both really smooth. They don't have the constant update and not AS much goodies as AOKP, but it's fine for me.

Morning everyone! Looks like ya'll are enjoying your holiday weekend since it's so quiet in here. :D We were downtown yesterday and it was tourist city.

I know I'm the only one up early on a Sunday, but if anyone hasn't caught any of Paul Miller's articles in his series about giving up the internet for a year, his latest is a really great read:
Offline: Ignorance | The Verge

It's funny because I'm all too ready to whip out the Nexus while we're out to answer some trivial question with a simple Google search. What do you all think, is this a good thing to be constantly connected to a vast array of information (or false), or should we just not care sometimes?

Hi guys and dolls! I hope everyone is good! Weekends are starting to get busy with dates, hanging out with my friends and babysitting. I just want to drop in and say hi! :)

Morning all and Rose...wait, that sounds like something I used to have...aka a LIFE??? I remember them days...I think!!!
Happy Sunday to all. Had a housewarming to attend yesterday, kids all weekend...so just hanging with the family. Tomorrow...no plans. Just gonna couch and cuddle and catch up on DVR!!!
Today we are doing some work around the house, bike ride, buying a new fish for the big saltwater tank....and hanging out. Have an 11yr old that has a bad viral chest infection and a 5 yr old that wants to play...and talk...and bounce around. Woo hoo!!! Love having kids!!

Yeah, I followed the instructions and booted into Fastboot... but it's erroring out because the bootloader's still locked.

And to unlock the bootloader I have to wipe the whole phone... which is something I am not prepared to do at the moment...

Back to Verizon rants I guess:

I called *611 and let tech support HAVE IT, asking them WHY Google has had the iMM76 OTA update on their website for a friggin' WEEK and Verizon hasn't pushed it out yet!

He gave me the standard hemming and hawing about making sure it's just right, test devices, blah blah blah.

I'll be surprised if they EVER release it

EDIT: Okay folks, I read THIS at xda:

"PLEASE NOTE: My apologies for the flip-flopping. It appears Step 4, the booting into CWM Recovery, will NOT work if your bootloader is locked after all. You will first need to unlock your bootloader to use this upgrade method. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE BACKUP YOUR ENTIRE PHONE BEFORE PROCEEDING. Unlocking the bootloader wipes ALL data on your phone and it is NOT recoverable."

How the HECK do I back up the entire phone without doing a nandroid? I can't do a nandroid unless the bootloader's unlocked! WTH

 again

Search the general Gnex forum at XDA (it may even be a sticky) but there is a method to backup using your phone using your computer with a locked boot loader.
