2012 NHL Playoff race

Ok, so the race is on and there are a lot of teams fighting it out for one of the 8 final playoff slots. I see 4 or 5 in the east fighting to make it and 8 different teams still in the hunt for the west. Who are you rooting for in the east and/or the west and who are you hoping won't make it?

I'm hoping that the Avs can make it in the west. I'm also hoping Winnipeg can make it in the east. Not only because I used to live in Atlanta, but also because they have been so excited to get a team back it would just be cool for them to make it even further this season.

I'm a Bruins fan, so I hope they can right the ship and play like they were in November and December. I too, like the misfit toys, so I would like to see Winnepeg get in. I've had a soft spot for Colorado since they got Ray Bourque his cup at the end of his Bruins career, so the have always been my out of town team. I also like the Sharks as their AHL affiliate plays a few miles from where I live.

I want Winnipeg in the race just to emphasize how poor the ownership and management were in Atlanta. The Thrashers lost a ton of good players because the owners and general managers couldn't do their job. I can't blame players like Hossa for leaving and I can only blame the management for the loss of a goal tender like Lehtonen.

I really want Winnipeg to take the eastern conference, but I don't see it happening. In the end I just want anyone but the Penguins playing for the cup in the east.

In the west, I want Colorado in there. If they can't make it then I really think Vancouver deserves another shot. They have been phenomenal this year.

East wise, I am pulling for Buffalo and Winnipeg to make playoffs cause I am a fan of Miller and Ladd. In the west, I would really rather see LA making it rather then Dallas.

I kinda want to see Colorado fall as far as possible since their draft pick goes to the Caps. Would love to see a line of Ovie, Backstrom and Yakupov. Looks like CLB is going to end up with him tho.

clb is such a poorly managed team.. it is fairly sad cause as far as I have heard/seen they have a good fan base.
