Help Play Store sending notifications

Hey All, this may be an android thing, not specifically an S3 thing, but this is my first Android phone, been using tablets for a while, but first phone.

My thing is, im getting what appear to be APP store notifications at all hours of the night, telling me to "try the latest number 1 game" or "find my love with the love compatilbity app" etc etc.. im trying to find out how to turn the flipping things off! Ive tried all the usual, the settings for the store etc, disabled what i could but they just continue!

Junk email annoys me at the best of times, let alone getting it to my phone at 4am, that and i simply dont care about what is the number 1 game. This one little thing is making me despise this phone a little.

Anyone got any tips on getting rid of these alerts??

Sounds like you got yourself an app thats spamming you with ad's.

There are a few things you can do;

Get an anti virus app.
Turn off mobile data and or wifi at night if you dont need it. If you want to make it easy get a couple of NFC stickers and program them for a day & night profile.
Failing that theres always airplane more (but this means no calls or texts)
Disable push alerts on your email for off peak hours
Disable notifications at night if thats more convenient for you.

Those are ads that come with some apps depending on which they are. Not a play store thing. They can be disabled through the app if it allows it too, cause some apps do. You can disable them with ironically another app called adblocker in the market. Your device needs to be rooted to use adblocker though or anything similiar.

I don't think it's play store but is probably from a app you've downloaded. I had the same thing. Was a pain trying to find out which one it was but got uninstalled as soon as I found out

This is an unscrupulous form of advertising known as air push. Download addons detector or air push detector from the play store and they should be able to pinpoint which app is spamming you so you can remove it.

Thanks all! great advice, didnt realise something like that existed, was two apps, a little game someone downoaded called KNee Surgery, and GO SMS Simple theme.

Be sure to go to the market and give them a bad review stating that the app allows air push adds. That way others won't run into the same frustration you did.
