Help GPS Problem on LG Optimus Net

I recently bought the lg optimus net,,,n all is working fine except that
i don seem to get a fix on the GPS satellites,,,
Cant figure out wat the problem is..

is it the phone??
is it the android 2.3.4??
is it some other software problem??
is it some one-off defective piece..??

You tried it outside of a building?

In a building GPS is to weak for phones

The GPS of my piece is working well. Try asking the guys at LG...

The GPS icon has to be enabled from notifications (active - blue, not grey)

My name is Meet, form Gujarat and city Jamnagar. I also have tried GPS, but after opening 'Navigation' app on my Optimus Net, I got a message telling, "GPS isn't available in your area" or something else. Well, Non-availability of GPS in some areas of India is clarified by this. It may not be available in your area.

1. Is this a phone?

Ans: Yes, LG Optimus Net P690 is a SMART PHONE.


2. Is it Android 2.3.4 (Ginger Bread)?

,Ans: Yes, It's Android 2.3.4 Ginger Bread.


3. Is THERE any other software problem?

Ans: No, Personally, I haven't found any other problem yet.


4. Is it ONE OF defective piece?

Ans: No. It DOES NOT sound like a defective piece.

I'm also from Bangalore. GPS works like a charm on my phone. Alvin it drains battery fast.. :|



if you have issue getting a GPS fix, I'd recommend you to download GPS status from Google app.




make sure you are out side and the phone has a clear view of sky .

I get GPS fix in 15 to 25sec and on cloudy days 5min at max

GPS is only availabe in some areas in India like Banglore, Mumbai, Delhi. As I told, it's not working in Gujarat. :banghead:

I know how GPS works and it should be working everywhere in India. I'm also wondering on this problem that why it's not working.

And one more thing, Make sure that you are outside with clear sky and connected to net and download Gps assistance (using same app <tools<manage agps state<download) check if that solves....

and last and final option: hard reset :/

I've done 2 hard resets since I bought it on November 2011 but nothing.
I'm not a noob in Android's world. I've rooted it and installed ClockWorkMod Custom Recovery.

Non-availability of GPS must be a satallite problem. However, I'm able to view maps. I use 3G. Navigation app says:"Navigation is not availabe in your area.".
I hope Google will take action on it.

well, the navigator app does not work in bangalore.

i use gmaps and gps. works great with auto follow and 3d buildings
