Help How do I install JB with out root?

So I read somewhere I can install a leaked version of jelly bean with out rooting. Can anyone give some info and steps as to how to do this? Thanks.

I believe that all you have to do is be on the latest official ICS build for the device, download the .zip file that contains the ota, boot your device up in recovery, and then install the zip file from recovery.

One problem that could arise from this is that the leak is probably not the official release, and to my knowledge, there is no way to downgrade back to ICS from this build. Meaning that when the official release does get pushed, you won't be able to update to it.

Thanks for that buddy! I have checked and I was just overwhelmed of the information and sites that came up.
Plus I thought this was a place to get friendly advice on anything no matter how often it was posted. Sorry to bother anybody.

It's no bother, andonakis...we try our best to help each other out around here as jhawkkw has kindly shown.

Also, jhawkkw pointed-out in this post: http://androidforums.com/motorola-droid-razr-razr-maxx/667082-jellybean-4-1-2-update-2.html#post5358213 that this link/page shows how you can manually install the update:

Original DROID RAZR Receiving Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Build 98.72.8 (Updated) – Droid Life

You should please consider jhawkkw's and the above site's warning about this is probably not the final / official release of JB for the RAZR MAXX since the update was indeed inadvertently released prematurely and subsequently pulled.

FYI to all, I've deleted a few off-topic or otherwise non-contributory posts above that don't quite fit our Site Rules/Guidelines.

Thanks!

Given that the current leaked JB went or via the normal OTA process (albeit by mistake), I think it unlikely that Motorola and VZW would leave the poor suckers who happened to receive the update high and dry. And even if the next OTA release is different, the leaked version is bug-free, so why not go ahead and load it?
