Because I won't be around, they'll all be free to list the things I got wrong in life.

Given sufficient cash, it's going to be a really tall monument to fit the long list.

But missing from the list will be this -

My monument will say-

Cuz the life insurance policy is about the only way I could afford my only other viable option which costs nearly $100/month for a single line. I'd take less coverage for easy root and a GSM phone option. But yeah, only got so much I can shell out for this habit of mine.

Rooting a Nexus or an HTC is very similar -

* unlock bootloader with fastboot command
* install custom recovery (CWM or TWRP)
* either install SuperSU or a rooted rom

Just the bootloader unlock is different.

Typically you just visit HTCdev.com and get your bootloader token, iow, your key - and use that.

Except for Verizon and AT&T on various models, you can't get your key from HTC because reason = restricted by carrier.

So you have to rely on a stealth method to be developed that finds a weakness to exploit in the security and just unlocks it anyway.

No guarantee if or when that will be found, so you have to keep your eyes peeled for the announcement.

I'm almost willing to bet that it would show within the first month for this one.

I checked the One M8 situation for you.

With the VZW version, you temp root and do the full unlock using what we call an s-off tool. They had it for Verizon customers within days of release.

Then steps 2 and 3 and 3 and 3... LOL.

I'm really starting to warm up to the phablet idea again so I'm going to check out the larger One Max from last year just because I'd like to see the upper limit on size.

Today the Plus was leaked as their new QHD 805 phone, possibly smaller than 5.5".

As for the idea they'll field no QHD 805 -

Man I must be blind, I'm still missing the 2nd article you spoke of re: the lack of 805. Did see this though which appears to have been a little ahead of the curve in logic...if its right?
