Root TWRP 3.0.2.0 [SM-S920L ONLY]

I have a odin flashable if something screws up... Havent released yet
Do you think you can release the odin flashable? I flashed your twrp recovery and got caught in the recovery loop. Tried adb shell "idme bootmode 4000" etc.. only got adb:closed. I have a recovery.img but fastboot won't flash, it just says waiting for any device. I can adb sideload but I only have the recovery.img. Nandroid ****ed up as well. :/

Edit: I am using SM-S920L btw

First test done on my phone of course lol. Note to OP i tried the stock recovery you have posted and kept getting invalid md5 in Odin 3.10.7 redownloaded it several times. I did find one though and converted it to a tar for my own use and verified it booted.

2nd test done converted the .img Twrp file to a tar file and flashed it in Odin.

Here's a link for the tool i used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2281287
Read post 23 otherwise you will get errors. Once you have edited the bat file everything works fine.

For invalid md5, you just drop the .md5 and leave it as a .tar and it works.

Thank you! All is much appreciated I was fixing to ditch this phone but now I'll keep it. I like the phone but didn't like the fact of not having a way to restore it when I screw something up.
Yes this phone is very hard to brick :) i have a rooted stock rom aswell that i plan on releasing just give it time im in the process of moving right now not much dev time

All other functions seem to work for u??
I have tried 3 times to make backup, but it keeps getting stuck at generating md5, is it because im backing up to extsd? Ill have to free up some space and i will try to backup to internal storage to see if that works.... Also i am running a 128gb exsd card that also could be the issue.. Just checking to see if anyone else has had an issue

DISCLAIMER: By using this recovery, you agree that you are the only one responsible for anything good or bad that may occur. Use at your own risk.

Bugs:

  1. Rebooting to recovery by anything but key combo will cause a recovery boot loop this is fixed by flashing ur backup stock recovery image and selecting reboot system... I am looking into this issue link to stock odin flashable flash in odin and reboot device normaly then u can flash back twrp if desired http://androidforums.com/threads/odin-stock-grand-prime-sm-s920l-recovery.1025644/
  2. Brightness doest work
  3. Time and date are wrong
TWRP version 3.0.2.0

Install IMG with flashify:
  1. Make sure your phone is rooted.
  2. Download twrp-3.0.2.0-gprimetrfvzw.img
  3. Install and run Flashify.
  4. Make sure you hit “Allow” when Superuser request window pops up when opening the Flashify app.
  5. Choose “Recovery image” for recovery images.
  6. Choose the file you want to install by selecting “Choose a file”.
  7. Choose one of your file explorer apps. If you don’t see any, download and install ES File Explorer
  8. Browse your storage and choose the IMG file you downloaded earlier.
  9. Choose “Yup”.
  10. Enjoy!
This Is awesome, Im new to rooting android devices, and even with the minor boot loop hiccup which wasn't really hard to figure out, I managed to get rooted and have been messing and with it ever since. bricked a couple times etc, but have managed to get back and recover. Thank you for your hard work!
