Insirt chmod 0777 /system/app and try to cut and paste a system app to your ad card. don't believe your file explorer if it"says" you cant. remember, all this works with es file explorer. best of luck

I'll have to get mine rooted when I get home tonight. Had issues doing it last night.

Thank you tommytopdrive for figuring this out.
Thank you Willster419 for writing down the steps! You guys are great!

I'd like to give this a try but I rooted my commando at M70 by backing up Innopath ActiveCare using Titanium Backup and then freezing it.

Now, in order to have Verizon update my phone to M130, do I only have to unfreeze Innopath? Will it then automatically update my phone to the stock Verizon M130 so I can then reroot it using the above procedure?

yes. unfreeze, update, then follow steps. backup your stuff cause you will most likely lose root.

So, I have root explorer on my commando. You're saying that I should be able to download the file package you put together to my sd card, copy the su file to system/bin, and then continue the steps to gaining root, right? All without even using a computer? I'm just asking, so please no beating me up.

 Backup my stuff? I'm assuming I will lose root when I update to M130 but what would M130 delete? Will the M130 update remove other apps I've previously installed? The update wouldn't cause anything on my micro SD card to be removed, would it?

Exciting stuff. Good job Tommy. My commando is packed away in a box somewhere, but if I still used it, I'd be happy to delete all the VZW crapware off of it.

Backup using titanium backup. Your backups will still be there after update.

  15. This is exciting. I've already parted with my Commando, but I have these words of caution to those of you who do successfully root your M130.

NEVER ALLOW PLAYSTORE TO UPDATE BUSYBOX

I had a rooted M80 that a busybox update corrupted such that I could no longer use mobile data. I was lucky to get a replacement Commando, but it was M110, so I sold it and got a Galaxy instead.

    Just add some more information..
After Install Superuser.apk and busybox from playstore [they should be the latest version available],Superuser try to automatically check update for su binary. It's ver. 3.1.1 this update of su binary files makes the superuser acces freeze up or taking too long. I guess su binary ver. 3.1.1 doesnt seem to work fine with M110 update.
Does Anyone get the same issue for build M130 ?
if so just repeat the same step as above guide to re-root with su binary provided by Willster419 and dont auto update that binary files.

Thats good i was about to upload my TB file , i suppose everyone here should backup the system app & data right after the root process completed , and about to remove vzw bloat, and the safe removal guide thing.
