Thoughts on K9 Mail for Pop 3 accounts

You do not have to uninstall the native app to use K9, just remove the accout to avoid double notification.

I'm using K9 for hotmail, verizon and comcast w/no issues. Barbara created a Road Runner account, for testing and troubleshooting for another member here, and it was also issue free. You just have to configure all your folders for desired sync preferences. Some folders may not sync by default.

Overall, its more stable and flexible than native app...just remember that you won't get a full blown mail app on a cell. At least not for free.
