Looking for a trackball hack

My trackball is getting dirty and its noticeable when the light is on. Is there any way I can turn off the light permanently? Maybe an app? Anything? Thanks.

believe this or not bud...but i bought a beat up hero of this mechanic. when i bought the phone, the trackball was nearly black. i used a lint-less cloth and rubbing alcohol every night on it for about a week. it looks brand new now next to my other hero. it all doesn't come off at once but if you keep cleaning it, it will get very close. don't use TOO much alcohol, just enough to get the cloth damp. it worked really well for me.

Go to the market and look up "LEDs hack." It will disable your trackball light. I use it all the time.
