2.2..... this lag is kiiling me. Did a factory wipe and still after maybe a day the lag gets to the point that my phone is unusable. Don't know if it is an app I have or what but it is driving me crazy

2.2 just blows. I want to root and go back to 2.1 till 3.0 or whatever is next comes out.
FRG01B gave me some nasty lag occasionally when coming back to the lock screen after being idle ,really the only solution I could do to stop it was a reboot but it has been very smooth so far on the newest FRG22D much better than 01B at least on my handset
Root with the one click root program "Universal Androidroot" and install a custom rom via Rom Manager.
is the frg22d an ota?
I don't think it's an app I think it's just the update. I have a total of 4 apps on my phone and it lags like crazy. I've even went so far as to delete them all and it still didn't change anything. The other night the screen wouldn't even come on. I'd unlock it and the screen would stay black. My battery was at 3/4 charge, so it wasn't a low battery. It finally took a reboot to get the phone working again.
I hate 2.2 and would gladly go back to 2.1. I loved my phone and used it all the time. Now it just sits there because every time it lags I feel like throwing it against a wall.

I do care and have been reading this entire thread and may root so my phone is more usable...
I shouldn't have to root to fix my phone that had NO problems until this latest update that basically destroyed it.

3rd ... While some software updates do have issues during the update process... 99.9 percent of the time they do not. Of course with millions of users being updated... that still leaves 100,000 users out of each million that may experience a problem. ...
