@imsid:

I share your sentiment - a first android purchase. And thanks to this forum (sub-forum?), I am more than happy to wait for my HTC Desire.

Samsung's Galaxy S is selling like hot cakes in this part of the world... But I am quite sure that it is the Desire that I need.

How much is it priced, btw? 28-ish grand?

Oh, and good luck with the purchase..!

Sure there is!!

Desire can take a 32gb card!! ;)
you are aware that not all the apps get moved to aps2sd
i understand where you are coming from but you are completely wrong
also galaxyS can take 32gb cards on top of the better app storage.

its the only thing that phone has going for it but its no big issue. id sooner have a handfull of top quality apps over a phone full of crap ones that i dont use

people havent developed apps2sd+ for galaxy solutions as it was rare to run out of system space where as on htc it was a big issue
when galaxyS gets froyo it will be able to use apps2sd also.

im a desire user and love my desire, i just dont agree with blind love

i came from a 5800 xpress music and you will be dissapointed with the desires really bad speaker and sound compared to your old phone. saying that, I am an extremely happy desire owner and what it doesnt offer in sound/speaker quality (calls are fine) it more than offers in other areas.

With new phones there is an element of getting to know it and with that comes adapting the way you may use it.

I will champion the deisre for the next 12 months and then after contract will Im sure stay with Android and all it has to offer above and beyond symbian, meamo, apple et al
