giving this rom a try and am loving it, the rotary lock screen is what dragged me in. I was running Kang's 5.0.9 (i think) before and that was flawless for me. I had tons of issues with CM6.0 (market not working music not working, FC's with LP and ADW everytime i hit home) LFY 1.6 was a major battery hog for me and was barely able to make a day with my phone barely being used.

with UD8.0 Im getting the best battery ive had, really smooth, and the customisation is awesome, although when I try to open apps in landscape mode they FC, and when i try to install modified apps from UD settings they never work.

Have any of you that have UD8 successfully installed previously run CM6? How about Titanium Backup?
Anyone have a solution for those of us getting stuck in the Ultimate Droid splash screen after first reboot after flashing?

Go to blackdroidmod.com and get a fresh copy of the ROM. Pull your SD Card. Put the SD Card in a Card reader Create a Folder on the card named ROMs. Move the dl'd Rom into that folder. Put Card back into the phone. Boot into recovery. Format Boot System Cache and Data. I do it 3x to be safe. Then load the ROM.

I always use TiBu to restore all my apps, including Swype, without an issue.

The only thing worth mentioning is the Market for me seems pretty slow. I had the same quirk with CM6, as well, so there's a chance it's just my phone.

I am experiencing the same issue. Market is extremely slow to update categories. I can't even load Downloads though, every time I do it results in a server error, on both 3G and WiFi.

It sucks because everything else with this rom is running great, but I can't stand not having a Market that functions like it should.. (and no I don't want to have to rely on yet another app - Appbrain)

I've noticed that my BT voice dialer is not working with this ROM. When I activate it, the pre 2.2 voice dialer opens, but doesn't let me voice dial with my BT headset.

Anyone else notice this and/or know how to fix it? I don't see a setting for it, but I have also only been using this ROM for a about a day now.

Thanks,

Kratos

I just started experiencing this same issue. I can search and download apps no problem, but each time I try to get to my downloads section I get a server error (on both wifi and 3G). I suppose I'll try fixing permissions and clearing Market cache to see if that helps.

Edit: Running the "Fix Permissions" script worked! Give it a shot.

Ok, fix permissions seemed to have worked, after having to run it 3 times since it kept FC. Market is still extremely slow though. I wonder if ripping market out of LFY1.6 would work, that one worked perfectly.

I was having problems with a slow market a few hours ago. Didn't fix permissions but just tried again and is working fine.

Maybe problems with the server?

Here you go:

Just install as an update.zip without wiping. Takes maybe 2 seconds and FIXES BT voice dial.

Awsome, thanks. I had UD8 with Watermarked and for some reason the BT dialing worked, but when I re-installed UD8 to get rid of Watermarked, the BT dialing stopped working.

You guys must read minds, I just came on to see if anyone else had this problem, didn't expect to find a fix that was linked today.

BTW, thanks Kratos for the advice on just re-loading UD8 to get rid of Watermarked, worked like a charm.

So after being off the charger for 8 hours today, my phone says it is sitting at 90% battery left. That is with a bit of mild texting and some web browsing. It is either wrong, or the best battery life I have ever gotten on a ROM before. Used to be I'd come home from work and my battery would already be down to at least 50-60%. I am using the same Slayher 1.2 kernel I've been using on my other Froyo ROMs, but none of them even came close to this stated battery life even just idling.

I used to call BS every time I seen someone state they're getting 2+ days out of their battery, as I was never able to achieve that on anything, but now I'm thinking I finally found the lucky ROM that will do it for me.
