Root cyanogenmod 6.1.0

My phones been broken for a month. Its finally been returned to me fix from the insurance company. I'm trying to install this mod onto it.

I rooted it successfully with unrevoked. Installed the radio 32.48.00.32u_5.10.05.30 successfully. Wiped the data/cache. However when I try to install the cyanogen mod I get a message which is a list of

getprop("ro.product.device") == "bravoc" || get getprop("ro.build.product") == "bravoc"

finished with "(Status 7) Installation aborted".

Any ideas?

Try formatting cache, system and data. Also you need to ensure you have your ext partition on SD. That wouldn't cause this but would cause the Rom to not boot once installed.

It's not a cdma desire is it?

How do you put an ext partition on the sd card? I just tried the modaco r8 and that kept looping at the start screen. which i guess is the same issue.

You need to use gparted live cd or Rom Manager from your rom. I think I created my EXT even before modaco, so not sure but maybe that requires it too.

Did you take a backup via recovery of your old rooted rom before you did all this? Please say you did. That is always the first step before flashing a rom

yeah i still had an old rooted rom of defrost. ive put that on and it was fine. and i put on the latest defrost and thats fine too. how can i check if my desires cdma or gsm? i got it back in may if its an age thing.

Ah right. Just noticed you're in Wales. UK don't have CDMA so thats fine.

I'm on defrost myself. Defrost is based on Cyanogen. If that works then not sure.

Try re downloading cyanogen again.

Just put any working rom on, download rom manager, use the flash clockwork mod recovery (all it does is put update.zip on your SD card) and use the partition card option. You need an ext partition with swap=0. This is for a2sd+


What do you want from cyanogen thats not in defrost?

ok im going to get the stable cyanogen (6.0.2). i have a newer radio version than the one they recommend, thats fine isn't it. i shouldn't need to downgrade right?

thanks for your help dude. just been excited to get my phone back and was a bit annoyed that its taken me over 3 hours to just get it working.

Shouldnt need to downgrade tbh. but you always can afterward. I use the latest radio all the time. They probably just havent updated the details of the newer radio.

OK. I think I was trying to install the cyanogenmod for cdma. Downloaded the gsm one and it installed fine. Thanks bud. Much appreciated. Now I found out it looks like the repairs I sent it off to have fixed weren't all done. Could this be another month of desirelessness?

The "bravoc" is the CDMA version.
