Galaxy S USA release date - Nov 11

I havent go anything yet, I am thinking it was just speculation. Not a single person has posted about having it yet so I guess the waiting game continues. Right now I'm pretty happy with the phone on 2.1, but if it was easy for you to do the root, perhaps I will try it soon

I did alot of research and considered why I wanted to root for a long time. I followed alot of forums and luckly San Diego has a few xda developers around who were able to tell me what I'd be doing to my phone if I were to root it. I found a well respect developer (Disclamer:they live in thier own world, extremely smart, but cool poeple to know) and went with that product. Do not just jump on the first website you see and download its' root. These phones are effin expensive to replace if you hard brick them. Like I posted previously, I was happy with my 2.1. But like all the poeple who will bother to read this, I like my technology and thus the forward progression of it. Peace my Android Bretheren and Sisteren.

meh, its not coming. Im probably moving on from the Vibrant in a week or two. Really don't feel like rooting and I'm sick of waiting for the update and a REAL GPS fix. GPS took a s**t on me today when I was lost in downtown MPLS and then the battery died shortly after even though it said I had plent left. That was the final straw.

Unfortunately I don't have a lot of options with T-Mobile :/

It is coming, it's just a matter of time...

I'm tired of this waiting bullshit though...

Galaxy S updates are staggered. UK and Netherlands have gotten then. Appears that O2 has it in effect.

Galaxy S updates are now also in effect in India and Korea.

Captivate and Vibrant appeared scheduled for mid December. No word on the Epic or Fascinate yet.

I suggest just let them do their job and see it through. The Scandinavian update didn't turn out too well so they're doing a staggered approach, approving one area after another like dominoes after each area's update has gone through with little or no problems.

I'm continually checking for South East Asian region updates as well for my own phone.

There customer relations are all over social media actually, like in Twitter. One of them is even *pretty*.

But yes, they're rolling out gradually and I'm following Twitter responses to see how well it went. The first roll out in Scandinavia and Baltic regions had quite a bit of issues so I am monitoring. It appears the new wave seems a lot better this time.

Personally I am annoyed that you have to use Kies to get the update, at least for international versions like the one I use. For the US versions, it might just be pushed in the air.

That's for the Canadian models, American variants are supposed to get it next week or so.
