Root Hotspot

my router has packed up so I am trying to use the hotspot feature on the Desire. I connect my pc to it okay and can download my email ok but if I try to go to any website I get a message saying Forbidden - access denied by access control list. How do I change this in Windows 7?

The Hotspot needs your router to work, it is not a stand alone Wifi.

No it doesnt. It acts AS a router and allows the PC to connect to the mobile network through the phone.

OP is your browser set to automatically detect settings?

If not, set it so. If so, maybe its something else...

What browser? Do you have an alternative?

I have sorted out the problem. It was because Virgin told me I need a proxy server to overcome a problem I am having on my PC. Once I went back to setting to automatically find settings I was able to use the hotspot to view internet on PC.

I think I have a problem with my router. I can view all websites apart from the two I have made. Only just started happening. I can't logon to my FTP server either so I cannot change my sites. Hopefully a new router will arrive in a day or two.

I was thinking of websharing or a file transfer by wifi app. I got it wrong!!!
