few tethering questions

Does tethering to a laptop use more data than just browsing on the phone itself?
Not innately, but people tend to do more searching in less time on a full blown computer than on a phone. By default you will also be directed to the mobile version of a site, if it exists, which uses less data than the full blown version. There is a setting to disable this if you ALWAYS want the full page though.
Does using a wired tether use less data than a wireless tether?
Nope. Same amount. Wired tether is simply more convenient for some for a couple reasons. Obviously if you ave no wireless card, this is the way to go. Wireless tether also drains your battery quickly, so you end up plugging the phone in. Some figure if it's already plugged in, may as well just usb tether (unless of course you are needing to connect multiple devices).
