Per Sprint and HTC's Twitter pages:

Slight clarification on Android OS updates for the HTC Hero & Samsung Moment. Will be updating straight to Android 2.1, not 2.0, in 1H2010.

I'm pretty happy with my Hero, but more stability and better battery life (I've tried everything posted on the forum and get at best 10-12 hours before having to recharge) would be even better.

First half of 2010 means June. I am disappoint.

hahaha, Actually, it means - January 1st ~ June 30th, 2010, anywhere in-between, not just the finish line!

I would bet my paycheck it will be out before the unit is 6 months on the market, which would be fine by me.

Redundant and not necessary to know, except for those with ADD who might need to be reminded every hour. :D

i'll take that bet

hahaha... ok PM me your tax return from last year  so I can divide by 52... ;)

I'll do the same and we'll use the avg. (+ / 2)

Really, there is just too much evidence to back it up that it will not take so long (June). Anyway, so far it seems they have been releasing stuff every month now since it came out (Hero) and I hope that trend continues, it will keep certain people happy.

hahaha...:D

Regards!

and that's okay, because it is giving me time to figure out how to Unroot, so I may get this "Update". :D

I would also like to find out how to get updates from FreshRom... lol.
I just don't have any NEED for any of these. So, I just wait until I do.

I am coming to Hero from Sanyo Pro 700. A rubber brick, that did all it needed to.
SO, this is all gravy for me.

Well to further (possibly) burst some bubbles, not only might we be waiting till June of 2010 for an update, wengla02 - a sprint admin over at the community.sprint.com forums said this:

The Marketing folks posted that tweet - I'm guessing they fat fingered it and meant 2.0.1 and not 2.1.

Although I could be wrong.

Reaching out to various people to see what they meant.
so by the time we get any update, we'll probably be behind the loop anyway since they'll prob have 2.5 out by then (as someone else jokingly stated from here in a previous thread.)

lol i guess we'll just have to wait and see. it all makes me laugh anyway. i'll be laughing even harder when they do release 2.0.1 instead of 2.1 and everyone starts crying all over again. ;)

yeah for the droid, it's the only thing on 2.0 right now.
i thought it was more of a MR for android 2.0 OS and not just DROID specific, but maybe I'm wrong.

2.?.X will be mr updates X being from the manufauters

i could be wrong to though
