returning samsung captivate *sigh*

So i bought the samsung captivate from amazon on november 19, and it arrived the 26th. I immediately fell in love with it, and the whole idea of android, however, I am beginning to regret buying this piece of shit phone

I bought this phone to replace my gps, won't lock on to anything, claims im in new york, I LIVE IN CHICAGO!

My phone turns off every time i lock it (standby mode), which is not acceptable, as I use this phone for my work

The lag isn't as bad as people were saying, but enough to be annoying

what i really want to do is return this phone for the iphone 4, does anyone know if i can bring this to at&t store, even though i didn't buy it there, and replace it with an iphone 4?

No. You have to return and exchange thru your original point of purchase.

If you bought it direct from Amazon (vs. through another vendor on Amazon), then I imagine they'd have a reasonable return policy. I mean, I know people who have returned televisions and other major electronics.

Your best bet would be to call Amazon's customer service, they will be able to sort the whole thing out a lot faster than we could. I'm sorry to hear about your GPS issues, it seems a lot of people have that problem. I guess I'm lucky to not have it, though I rarely use the GPS to begin with. Let us know how it goes.

Last I heard, Amazon had a 30-day return policy - don't know if it applies to phones.

If I were you, I'd contact Amazon immediately - you might already be a day late.

Yea.... it's to bad.... getting a lemon sucks and is the only reason I will only buy from an at&t store or best buy.... paying a bit more is worth it to me. Cell phone quality assurance isn't very good IMHO.

I have No problems w the gps..I'm so sorry I read peole are having problems with that issue and sounds like u are not alone!!!To many thats a big issue!!
I use google maps,and it tells me my exact location.I would call amazon.
I Am close to my 30 days..I like it still,and don't want to change,yet the iphone 4 sounds nice too! GOOD LUCK!
