Desire HD2 Specs leak-Possible Inspire replacement in the future?

I honestly don't believe it'll take that long. But that's besides the point.

My point was:

Non-HTC company releasing dual core phone = Meh. It's unnecessary
HTC releasing a dual core phone shortly after = Fvck ya!!!

Nobody else is seeing this?

I think alot of angst towards the atrix was Motorola and the locked down almost applesque style approach. So people myself included were anti atrix for.all the encompassing reasons. Also I do believe it will take that long. Gingerbread was released officially in november and are.there any phones with it officially? Maybe the sonyerriccson arc in april? Which is about six months. Finally I will say this which I have stated.already it has to exceed the inspire in.every aspect for me to get it just dual core wont justify a swap for me

Which is an acceptable argument. I'm not denying that. But it gets thrown out the window when an HTC phone is released a couple months later and all of a sudden, dual core is praised. I could understand if it were a year later, but come on...

I'm not saying that you're one of these people. But these double standards always irk me. And of course, these people will never admit to their bias, which irks me even more.

Wrong. What you fail to do is separate a buying decision from a gut reaction. We are deciding which att smartphone to use for the next 1-2 yrs, so clearly there we will point out the positive and negative benefits of both phones. Specs on the htc device get released and we get excited because it gives us an idea what we can expect in the future and something fresh to talk about. None of us are going to hold off for the htc dual core. Most don't want the atrix because of its price, don't need docks, or don't care about dual core that can't really be used yet....

Dude A - you getting atrix or inspire
Dude B - inspire cause its cheap, great quality, great ui, and the docks and immature dual core tech on the atrix don't appeal
Dude A - did you see the leaked specs of the new htc dual core?
Dude B - yeah man, looks pretty effin sweet *goes back to texting on his inspire*

I don't see any bias here....

I agree. I think just because people are discussing the possibility if this phone being sweet it doesn't show bias.

I personally don't decide what phone I'm gonna be using for the next 1-2 years, because in reality, no matter how hard I try to kick this habit, I can only keep a phone for 6-7 months. The longest I kept and actively used a phone was about a year when I had the G1, but that was only because there were no better android alternatives for the majority of that time. I buy based on now, but that may just be me. I've been switching phones during contract since I've owned cell phones. So no matter how hard I try to convince myself that I'd keep the iPhone 4 for the full 2 years (which I kept for a little under 5 months) and the same with the inspire (I'm giving it a realistic shot at 8-10 months), the real me steps in and buys a new phone.

this isn't about the Atrix -- I put that in bold hoping that everybody will comprehend that.

This phone would theoretically not be out until 2012, when dual core would be a LOT more relevant, and it's running on a snapdragon dual core processor.

When this phone comes out, dual core will be relevant, as of right now, it isn't.

You can argue as much as you'd like, but the fact is that developers aren't going to make a large number of dual core optimized/dual core only apps until they see a large amount of their purchasing community switching to those devices. Sure, you will see the bigger app devs go that way early, but adoption across the board will not come until there are at least a good 4-5+ dual core devices on the market, and those devices sell well (which they undoubtedly should).

As for bias, no offense: it doesn't matter. The bias against Moto is a perfectly fine and legitimate one to have.

Moto:
-locks bootloaders
-makes cheaper feeling devices
-uses motoblur
-doesn't upgrade their software quickly enough

You can argue the upgrade paths and use the Droid X as an example, but there are plenty of other devices that counter that argument.

I have a bias against Moto because they have yet to deliver a high end device that looks or feels right to me as of yet. I'll change that bias when they convince me to.

I'm not an htc fan boy, there have been other android phones I've liked (the captivate being one of them, though it's limited and hence why i bought an iPhone instead) but you can not argue their quality when you compare them to most of the other companies offering handsets right now.

You are an asshat. You submitted the rhetoric against the atrix and the rhetoric for an htc dual core showed bias on our part, and I explained why that's not true. You can't ****ing say, I'm going to say something, but it doesn't mean what I say. How high are you?

Hey, I'm not calling her a whore, but, she is a whore ......

You are an imbecile with poor reading comprehension. I brought up rhetoric against the Atrix because that's when argument against dual cores was brought up. But the point of my post had nothing to do with the Atrix itself. It had to do with the double standard of disliking dual cores when released by a non-HTC company (doesn't matter if it was Motorola, Samsung, Sony, LG, Apple, etc..), but all of a sudden praising it when HTC plans to release it.

Again, it has to do with the DOUBLE STANDARD OF PEOPLE'S OPINION OF A FEATURE DUE TO THE COMPANY RELEASING IT. It has nothing to do with the Atrix itself. The Atrix was just used as an example of when dual cores were dismissed as unnecessary. I thought I CLEARLY pointed that out in more than one post.

JESUS FVCK!! Why are people so fvcking stupid!?!?!??!

And if the mods give me sh!t for this post. Then that's another double standard. Cuz this dumbfvck started the personal attacks first.

Hey, are you sober again? Ok, let me break it down for the lowest common denominator...

I said, using the atrix and, by extension, motorola in my example as you did.

1. We have spoken against the dual core options versus the inspire because it doesn't make sense for numerous reasons to purchase it

2. We have not spoken out against htc dual core options as THEYARE NOT relevant to us at this time

3. You didn't even need to mention the atrix at all in your post. Simply, "I find it hypocritical you are trashing motorola dual cores and not htc's"

What other things can I help you understand in life, since I'm feeling generous

I'm all over this thing if you can swap in an extended battery :D This is the device I want....if it looks like the Inspire/Thunderbolt, I'm all over it. I wouldn't be shocked to see this launch this summer. HTC needs a dual-core device on AT&T to compete with Moto and I don't see them waiting an entire year...by then rumors of quad core will be leaking :)

Pffftt...whatever im totally biased towards HTC. Most of the reviewers are to. Lets face it, HTC knows how to work Android. Sense makes motoblur and touchwiz look like garbage and HTC phones are easier to root.....

Why the heck WOULDNT you be biased towards it.

I also prefer BMW over kia, Icore7 over AMD ANYTHING, Coke over pepsi, steak over tofu, Family Guy over the simpsons, 30s women over 20s women, New construction over exsisting, xbox over ps3, ATI over Nvidia, And Hilton over Mariott.

Whats your point? People are allowed to be biased and in this case..HTC does (quite frankly) make better phones. So whats the problem?

90% of the reviewers have already said they love the new sense so much they wont even bother rooting.....the FIRST THING they still want to do with motoblur and touchwiz is root the crap out it. No one offers anything like the sense.com features or the HTC DLNA media port adapter that creats an adhoc wi-fi network that you can use your phone as a remote for...I could go on and on but basically what i am saying is "get a grip".

If you are a 12-17 year old and want a phone that doubles as a lap top browser....i think the Atrix is the ULTIMATE phone for you....but otherwise....its a yawn.

Such as it it. Truthfully..even if everyone here was shouting about the Atrix with glee..it would still be a yawn. We could all say the world was flat too, but it would still be round. Fortunately thats not the case and we call it like it is. No need for someone like you to come in here and insult us for saying the world is round..and the HTC is better. Seriously.

Personally I dont understand the Apple fanboy comparison to the Inspire guys who prefer an HTC made phone over a Motorola made phone.

Doesnt make sense. When 2 phones are being released around the same time on the same carrier with the same OS opinions and comparisons are going to happen. No one is saying 'f dual core' in general, their saying 'f dual core in a a motorola'. They then give reasons as to why: motoblur, locked bootloader, cheap design, etc etc... Your comparison of Apple fanboys to Android users on ATT who prefer the Inspire over the Atrix is ******ed basically. Apple fanboys would have no reasons (like the ones listed above) and then yes blindly and uneducatedly defend the product. Most Inspire guys prefer the Inspire 4G over the Atrix, with reason.

And when HTC introduces a new android dual core phone to AT&T in 6 months, a year, whatever we will probably prefer that phone over a Moto phone. Why? Its not because were fanboys its because we believe that HTC makes a better product. Thats it. No blind loyalty, we simply believe that when in comparison, at the moment, the moto even with the dual core under the hood isn't enough for us to buy the damn thing.

And yes im bias. But its an educated, informed, and personal bias to prefer HTC over Moto-anything until they release a phone that feels right, isnt locked down, and is stripped of Motoblur. Fanboys my ass

I was totally with you till this one. Just got a EVGA GTX 560 Ti. And... I'm gonna be that guy... ATi is dead. It's all AMD now. Which contradicts your above statement as well!

All in fun though! ;)
