Root Help Cyanogenmod gone wrong HELP!!!!!

Like the others said when went from a stock phone to CM you needed to do a full wipe. You will also need to do a full wipe if you decide to go to a Sense based ROM from CM which is an AOSP ROM. Incremental updates in your current ROM usually do not need a wipe of any type but the dev will usually post somehting if it does.

That said did you wait long enough for CM to finish installing? It can sit on that screen for 20 minutes or more while it installs. So you need a little patience when installing ROMs. What i do is set teh phone down and walk away, come back in 30 minutes and if its not done then look to see if something went wrong. Same for doing backups they can take forever.

I waited a half hour and no cigar. cm did the same thing yesterday and i cleared storage and it worked. Then today i tried installing the theme tang and it got stuck at boot screen for a half hour like cm did. I tried clearing storage and that didnt work either (also waited a half hour). What should my next coursse of action be?

I've never had a problem with ROM Mangager and AOSP ROMs but I don't do a lot of flashing either. People are having problems with the new clockworkmod recovery version 3 and if that is what you are using you may want to revert back to the older version, 2.5 something. Should be able to revert using ROM Manager or find the file on line and flash it usually Koush's website is a good place to find it.

Start doing all your flashing from Clockwork. For Roms...wipe data, clear cache, and wipe Dalvik cache under advanced menu all back to back. Immediately after, load your Rom from the SD card...install zip from SD > choose zip.

After you're up and running, do a new nand backup before loading add-ons such as themes, etc. If anything goes south, you have your functioning rom to go back to and you can regroup with the loading of the add on with very little time spent.

If we are still talking about Cyanogen here, make sure you flash Google apps right after flashing the ROM.

Pull the battery and replace. Then hold volume down while pressing the power button to enter hboot. Use the volume keys to select recovery, then power button to enter recovery (Clockwork). Restore the backup you created, then reboot system.

While in Clockwork, the buttons have diffferent functions...the power button brings you back one screen and the trackpad button selects an item.
