Help Can anyone help??

Ok so my g/f has a HTC wildfire wich works great minus the random rebooting out of the blue it does and the email issue.

Her main issue is the email, she added hotmail and went through and did all the settings in which she can send & get email sorta.

Pretty much everytime she opens the email & or is in the middle of replying to an email the error pops up and says (the application mail (processcom.htc.android.mail) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Then gives ya the button to force close. Then of corse it shuts down the mail and goes back to main screen.

Ive tried deleting the accoutn and reading it, resetting the settings & it still continues.

I cant seem to find an answer or a fix if there is one.

If anyone can be of any help id be grateful and a lil less stressed if ya know what I mean lol.

Look forward to see what ya all have to say.

Thanks Mike

Well it does sound simular but not quite sure.

I must add some info I forgot. We both got the wildfire the same day. I have my outlook express email set up on mine with no issues & do get emails from some of the same ppl she does & I have no issues at all.

The day she got the phone it did this right out of the box, without getting any emails, but it would pop up when she would open the email. So after a few days the store wiped the phone and started over & same thing so the just replaced the phone thinking something was faulty. Well within a matter of ours the 2nd phone did it & has ever since. This has been going on since around november.

She only gets email from few ppl & places: facebook, sisters, mom, which the accounts are with places like yahoo. But from what the link ya provided said it could be the email header, if that is the case and it was say yahoo mail doing this she would get this error every time someone that uses yahoo emailed her? If thats the case then I would think id have simular issues? Maybe not.

So I almost wonder if it isnt related to hotmail its self. I hope this makes sence and maybe adds some insight.

When you say open email, do you mean open the app or the actual email?

It could be just hotmail. What happens when you don't use hotmail? Can you open an email from a yahoo account without being force closed? I'm just tossing out suggestions.
You could also install the email app k9. A lot of people rave about it.

Its the actual mail tab on the phone that ya can set up to use hotmail, yahoo or what ever email ya want, not the gmail tab.

Ill ask about if the forceclose issue comes up with yahoo. I guess I havent heard about the K9 app ill check it out.
