State: Concealed carry bill advances!!

No I know your type cant wait for a situation to happen so you can show off your gun. I bet you think you are ready for anything and you will come out on top all the time.

Some will not win. Some will die. Some will have their gun taken away and end up getting shot, and some will go nuts and shoot an innocent. Some guns will be stolen and used to commit crimes.

But so what? We live in a free society and we are ostensibly governed by our founding documents, and that gives me a right to own a firearm. I rest comfortably knowing that the vast majority of gun owners are decent and careful.

Perhaps this is one of those tests we occasionally apply to the Constitution. Like free speech. The egregious speech must also be allowed.

But we are not constantly paranoid. I do not carry, but I know a few that do and they are far less paranoid, they are prepared. Do not confuse paranoia with preparedness.

I've never been to the states, and can't go for quite a while, but it seems to me that there is an awful culture of fear
I mean, I zip my pockets when I'm out so I don't get robbed, but I would never feel the need to take a gun (or knife...) with me
where I live is rough like any city, but far from bad... certainly there are bad areas, but even there I don't feel that nervous (not that I'd leave a bike there overnight

well then, your criminals aren't as desperate(or dumb, either way) as ours.

So you pull your gun out first and you just broke the law.

The law does not necessarily punish someone for pulling his gun out. I can see punishment for the fool that shows off in a restraunt or pulls a gun on a waitress for overcooking his bacon, for example. If there is a legitimate threat, you are justified. It is not like when a threat arrives, the gun must stay holstered.

You think all Americans are Cowboys with guns and just aching for a chance to brandish a weapon.

I think BatGeek carries... what are the general rules for "pulling out your gun, BG?"

1. mine or another person's life must be in grave bodily harm

everything else after that is dictated by the situation.

luckily i've never had to remove my firearm from it's holster. i almost did once, but myself and other bystanders were able to talk the guy out of repeatedly closing the car door on his gf's head.

property can be replaced. my life or another person's life, can not.

personally, i can not justify using deadly force to protect my "things". i am all for the castle doctirne though. my house is different than my "things". if someone enters my house without my permission or knowledge beforehand, i can only assume they are willing to do grave bodily harm to myself or my loved ones in the course of whatever crime they wished to persue in my domicile. even more so in a castle doctrine state.

you will never understand. please continue being sheeple.

you know, since our local Super Walmart was built in '96, there have been 12 attempted rapes, and 1 actual rape, in the parking lot. and it's not in a very bad part of town. it's just a huge parking lot and sometimes the late night employees don't get a chance to park close to the store.

yeah, you'll never know what can happen and where. as they say with spare tires and fire extinguishers...i'd rather have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

but as i said previously, you will never understand. and i feel bad for you.

CCW laws are unfortunate but necessary, especially here in the desert! I carry a S&W 9mm much of the time... and for those times when a handgun simply isn't practical I've got a tactical baton. It's amaxing how quick people will back off when they see that bad boy!

Life would a helluva lot easier for me and others here in AZ if the Mexican government would keep their criminal cartels on the south side of the AZ-Mexico border...

No I totally understand its people like you that looks for a fight to pull that gun. I fear the ones like you over the criminals carrying. I am all for the right to bear arms and to have a CWP but to many people are not mature enough to handle a CWP.

1. 10/10 times i am aware of my surroundings and don't put myself in a position to get robbed.

2. i guess you've never been to a defensive pistol class

You might as well ignore the troll. Stop feeding him, rather not let my thread get closed.

Anywho, someone people like to live in this fantasy world in their own city where crime may not be rampant. Here where I am, it never used to be, a break in here and there. IL has a massive unemployment rate, people are getting desperate, ghetto's are getting torn down and just so happens they're moving people to my city, and our wonderful mayor is deciding to break up our ghetto's and move criminals all over the place. The street next door to me recently got a bunch of apartments and houses under section 8, so now the whole street is turning into trash and less than favorable to be around. Thus, drug deals come about, lots of nice homes around so said people are going to see this and want to be out and about trying to rob people.

I like to walk my dog at night cause it's nicer out than doing it in the sun sweating balls. Should I need to fear to walk in the neighborhood I've lived in for 15 years? Hell no. Do I want to fire at anyone? Hell no, I'm hoping just pulling it out alone will cause them to scurry off.

We don't live in a perfect world, I'd rather be equipped to take care of myself than be yet another name in the newspaper because our government won't crack down on the crime here.
