Facebook Contacts Photos

I just set up my Droid Eris to sync my contacts with their Facebook profile so that their photos would show up in my contacts. I synced them all and them matched up properly, but their pictures are not aligned properly. When I first did it, their faces were aligned and everything looked ok, except some pictures were pretty pixelated. But after a few minutes, the pixelation went away and the quality of the pictures was better, except a lot of my contacts have their head not in the photo or just misaligned. More than half are off.

I thought at first it was that they didn't set up their picture properly on Facebook, but I looked at their mini pictures (like the ones that show up in the news feed) and their faces were showing up properly. Even their mini pictures on the facebook app are correct. And these seem to be the same size as the pics in my contacts.

Why is it that my contacts photos aren't aligned right on some of them and how can I fix this?

Thanks!

hmmm....I'm not sure why some of us are having this problem and some aren't. I emailed HTC about this problem, but the advice they gave didn't help.

Thank you for your inquiry about your Verizon Droid Eris. I understand the importance of having pictures show up properly for your contacts. I will be more than happy to address this for you. I recommend removing the Facebook Link and readding it to each contact. To remove a Facebook link, go to: Home> All Programs> People> Select Contact> Updates and Events> Remove Facebook Link. Then readd the facebook link to test the phone. The contact picture should be the cropped version from the feed data (live or news).

I tried this and it didn't help. I'm not sure what could be the problem...

I figured out the problem. It's not a sync error with Facebook. I think it's just something that needs to be patched on the phone (or Android). The contacts whose photos are being cut off need to have black bars on their photos. When the image is synced to my phone, the phone zooms in, in order to fill the entire block with their pictures. But for contacts whose photos are taller and thinner, this is not good. It cuts them off in order to fill in the block.

i'm having an issue with linking Facebook to my contacts. it seems that when i have a new Facebook friend i cannot link them to my contacts because their name does not show up on friend list. i've tried refreshing the list several times and still get nothing.....any ideas..?

I had the same issue. After a week or so they would appear. Have no reason why.

I'm having an almost similar issue, but not with new friends, just all of them that are in my phone contacts. When I try to link from Facebook, everyone from my friends list shows up, except the one person I want to link to that phone contact.

This has been happening to me too... no matter how much I "sync" or "update" or "refresh", a new friend will not show up until usually the next day or two. Very frustrating

I've already linked most of my contacts to facebook and their profile on my HTC Eris.

I'm running into an issue where it seems my contact isn't updated as they change their default picture and status. I even tried to completely delete the contact and re-enter it into my phone. I can't seem to figure out how to change the default picture to match up with whats on their profile. Does anybody possibly know how I can do so?

Thanks a bunch!
