GO SMS Pro for Android (Seems kind of buggy)

I was using GO SMS and received a notification that they will be doing away with GO SMS and replacing it with GO SMS Pro.
So I went ahead and downloaded it. It has some new features, but I've run into a few bugs.

First off, the text to speech does not work well anymore.
After my text is converted to text, the cursor jumps all the way to beginning of the first sentence in my text. So If I don't place the cursor where it belongs (at the end of the sentence), when I type or either speak another sentence, it will wind up being placed at the beginning. They need to fix that!

Another issue, is battery life. I can't specifically pinpoint the cause, but before I installed GO SMS Pro today I was getting pretty good battery life. Keep in mind that I have a 2600 extended battery. It's now 8:50 PM EST. Usually around this time I still have 50 - 60 % battery life left. That's after it's been off of the charger since 6 AM EST.

Installed GO SMS Pro today around 4 PM. Battery dropped 40 % within 4 hours. I'm less than 25% now. I have never been this low with my extended battery. So I'm going to assume that GO SMS Pro is the culprit.

Anyone else having bugs and issues with GO SMS Pro

I didn't understand the point of that comment personally, but yes really. Silencing Go SMS regular works too. I've also been testing go sms pro without the stock messaging app and it seems to run fine without it.

typing aloud i guess after reading the edit. now i think i'll replace the standard for pro. but:

does pro use more than the 10mb running mem that standard does?

any probs sending mms like reviews say?

Lmao! Yeah I guess that happens sometimes :p

It uses 14mb mem on my phone. So it's a little bit more, but nothing too bad. I mean I can deal with it. I've had no issues sending mms at all so far.

Voice recordings, pictures messaging, and video messaging all work fine for me!

I installed Pro and removed the old Go sms. I configured pro differently than OGGo. After a day or so, I started getting dual notifications from pro and the un installed (?) OGGo. I could see from the colors that OGGo though un installed(?) still existed. To make matters worse, I started getting pop ups that I always turn off and are turned off in pro. I un installed pro and still got the pop ups and notifications. Finally, I fished around in system/app and found gomms.apk. Removing that stopped the notifications. I used Go since its inception and was happy with it. Why did they have to make it a "new" app with a new name anyway? Does adding on "pro" make it more successful? Desirable? What was wrong with developing it and improving it as "Go"? I'm back to the basic sense messaging now. I may go back to hancent or another, but I won't be going back to Go. You guys screwed it up for no reason!

Up until yesterday I had only ever used stock sms app, wanted to switch because it never displayed my contacts' photos.

So far so good with GoSMS pro.. Have deleted stock sms app and no issues at all so far. MMS/SMS coming through normally. The LED notifications aren't 100% accurate on the HTC Desire, but for this particular phone LED notifications of different colors seem to be a hard thing to code for. Still, they work well enough.

I came here to ask one question though. In the GoSms Pro popup windows when a message arrives, what does the 'To-do' option actually do? Can't seem to figure it out :(

I use Handcent and am digging it. What does Go SMS Pro offer that Handcent doesn't?

I have been using Handcent since day 1 of my Android life.
I tried GoSMS a while ago, and saw NO difference and just uninstalled it right away to stick with what I knew.

After seeing this post, I went to get GoSMS-Pro (I have been having problems with Handcent lately... Mainly with it being laggy and slow). I think it LOOKS cleaner\better than Handcent, right away. The settings and customization tools are pretty much the same.

I decided to uninstall Handcent, and stick with GoSMS. I personally don't see a day\night difference, but I like the graphics in GoSMS better, I like its speed, and I also like the much larger choice of themes that GoSMS has over Handcent.
