Help Auto shut down

Recently, my phone will suddenly shut down by itself. I tried pressing the power and home button but to no avail. It will only turn on back when i take out the battery and put it back again. Why is this so?

I'm experiencing the same problem. I just find it turned off. Initially thinking it's on power save mode, I try the main button and then power button with no result. I had to take out the battery as well to get it to turn on.

I searched the net and found other people with similar experience.

Any fixes yet from Samsung?

It is the Wi-Fi sleep policy that is causing the phone to go into shutdown. The sleep policy suppose to switch back to mobile data (3G) when screen lock so as to conserve power.

So go to Setting->Wirelss and Network->Wi-Fi setting->Advanced (edit button) -> Wi-Fi sleep policy -> Choose "Never"

Or switch off Wi-Fi if you don't need at all if you have a 12GB data plan.

It works for me now, no more "deep" sleep mode for me.

Hope this helps!

I have the same problem, but I'm using a Galaxy Gio. Latest firmware installed via Kies.

I first thought it's a hardware problem, cause I needed to take out the battery and reinsert it, but you guys say it's an Android-thing. Anyway, I've just set WiFi sleep to never, and I hope it resolves the problem. :(

Hi guys .. I've checked my setting of wifi sleep mode which is already "NEVER" but my cell still getting the same problem " Auto Shut Down" .... can any 1 tell me pls what samsung service center told u about this prob ? thnx

It is from a thread in one of the Andriod Forum, you may check to ensure if you have the Build number FROYO.DXKC1 , Android version 2.2.1 installed. My Samsung ACE is running like a war horse....Go to the Android Market and install a app called Android Booster, and it could very well cure your problem by optimizing and closing unwanted apps running in the background....

Unfortunately, the phone went into sleep of death again today despite WiFi thing set to Never. :(:(:(

God, this a deal-breaker for me.

Should we contact Samsung? Are you sure it's an android thing, not specifically related to Samsung?
