Help Headphone volume very quiet (Huawei Ideos U8150 phone)

When playing music on my Huawei Ideos U8150 phone, the sound is very quiet on the headphones that came with the phone. I have the volume turned up all the way. Flying on an airplane, it was not loud enough to listen to (I tried listening to podcasts, and could not hear what the people were saying).

I tried 3 other sets of headphones at home, and they are better, but I have the volume at maximum, and would like a little more volume.

Interestingly, if I play the music or podcasts on the phone's external speaker, there is plenty of volume. I don't even need to play it at maximum volume.

Has anyone else noticed this?

Yes, I have the same problem with my phone. I think the phone is great, but this is a slightly annoying thing about the phone. I dont know how loud the maximum sound is for you, but I would've preferred at least 2 or 3 more "notches" as now when I have it on maximum it is OK in a quiet atmosphere on maximum but when walking in traffic etc it is too quiet.

I dont have any knowledge about this, but I have searched around the web abit regarding this problem and some say it is possible to hack into the phone and enter a different value for the volume setting, but I am abit afraid of doing something that would breach the warranty...

I've noticed the MP3 player volume low too.
But only with some songs.

Maybe get yourself something like the Android 'PowerAMP' App.

PowerAMP – Music Player for Android

It has a graphic equalizer and I got a bit more volume out of it.
But didn't test it 100% last night as I was tired and slept.

I will give another update on all of this
when I study more over the next couple of days.

P.S.
I also have Cool Edit Pro,
and AVS Video and MP3 Converter.
So, if I had an MP3 documentary or language lesson or songs that I loved,
I would convert them to WAV, then up the volume in Cool Edit Pro,
then convert back to MP3, and USB it to my Android phone.

The problem for me at least though, is that this is an omnipresent problem. Podcasts, radio streams, FM radio, or vidoes, the media volume is somewhat too low.

Is that through the speaker and headphones ?
If you have that problem through your headphones,
you will have to take the phone back to the shop.
And let them test it.

Testing it wont help. It's a problem with the U8150. Like someone else said, you need to alter some values in the software. The problem is, we can't find out how to do that with the U8150.
