Help sensation unibody case

By definition it is a metal case, not a unibody, as the internal components (motherboard, screen etc) are not attatched to it,
So no unibody, just a metal wrap around case, somewhat similar to the htc hd mini, only with a metal bit.

Hi guys. Considering the new Sensation and it's case at the back. Do you think one could order larger capacity batteries down the road and buy a different case etc. The design of the DHD prohibited that but this looks like an ordinary desire set up.Correct? I'm torn between this and an SG2. At the moment I'm only concerned about hardware as I'll throw on Launcher pro etc. I like the bigger battery in the sg2 but I prefer the look of the sensation. If I can buy larger batteries I'll go the HTC route

My understanding of a "unibody" is that the primary shell of a product is a single, seamless piece of material covering all six sides.
By this definition, the Sensation has a unibody; even thought the internal components are not attached to the metal frame, they are still wholly encased in it just as they are in a Legend, the only difference is that in the Legend, the metal case cannot be removed by the user.

About the batteries, I don't think so. (Speculating here, feel free to correct me)

But if you get a bigger batter, your going to need a fatter, unibody case which I'm guessing only HTC will make, and that's if they're going to make it. By doing that, aren't they going to disfigure the shape and potentially ruin the entire shape and feel of the device???

If you a hardware guy, is the GS2 not the better option... :)

True. The HTC sensation does not have the unibody as mentioned in the htc.com they should be sued for fraud, the sensation has a back cover like any other cheap phone, it is not a unibody design this is an insult to all tech geeks.

You would think, but some of the fan boys i've seen just make you think "REALLY? Is your head that far up HTC's ass to not see this!!"

HTC Sensation doesn't offer a unibody design after all?

The HTC Sensation, which was promised to boast the company's unique unibody design might not have it after all. The first live photos and videos that surfaced clearly show that the back panel of the Sensation is removable, rather than being firmly attached to the frame surrounding the front.

The official HTC Sensation page claims that the device features the famous HTC unibody design, but as it turns out, it might be just a cheap marketing trick. Of course,
We are expecting HTC response about this discrepancy, we'll let you know once we hear back from a rep.

I may be wrong here, but I was feeling one the other day. The aluminium is very light, and very thin, and when you feel it and tap it, it just feels very plastic. I'd rather have plastic, rather than metal that just feels like plastic "looks" like it'll scratch very easy. plus the rubbery/plastic feel on the Desire is very nice! :)
